GREAT NO-COOK FRUIT SMOOTHIE BACKPACKING HIKING BREAKFASTS!

 

When I Hiked the WT this year I had to adhere to a schedule and sometimes it required getting up very early and hustling out of camp fast.  To keep on this schedule I had to go with cold breakfasts on some of the days and found this to be a great way to keep on schedule without holding up all of my friends.

Now I’ve backpacked with Pack-it Gourmets Jump Start Fruit Smoothies many times and they are freaking awesome.  And so far I can’t even come close to making a concoction that tastes half as good as their smoothies.  But, at over four bucks per smoothie, I just can’t afford them every time so they are more like a treat for me.  Most of the time I have to resort to making my own with the help of some products from the store.  In the end they cost me about $1.50 each and they aren’t half-bad either.

Below are a few breakfast combos that I first started there and now I go with on most of my hikes. It’s fast, easy and doesn’t require firing up the stove!

It may not work for everyone but it works for me.

Fast Breakfast 1)

A)  Vanilla or Chocolate Carnation

B)  Nido powdered milk

C1)  Starbucks Via Ready Brew Coffee (Just a small amount)
C2) Starbucks Via Iced Coffee (Just a small amount)

D)  Just Tomatoes brand fruit snacks. (I grind them up into a powder in a coffee grinder and add a little to the vanilla flavored mix but I don’t add any to the chocolate flavored mix)

Fast Breakfast 2)
