I’ve had my Snugpak Softie Elite 1 for about a year now and so far it has kept me warm well into the low 40’s.  It’s fairly light for a synthetic bag and just knowing that it will still be warm whether it gets wet or not is good peace of mind.

I took this bag with me on an early June paddling trip and it worked out quite well.  If I got dunked I knew it would still keep me warm.

Snugpak makes some of the best sleeping bags out there and it shows.  I have four Snugpak sleeping bags and I like them all!  I have the Snugpak Sleeper Lite Mummy Style Sleeping Bag, Black, Snugpak Chrysalis 2 Sleeping Bag, Chestnut Red, Snugpak Jungle Right Hand Zip Bag, Olive and the SnugPak Softie Elite 1 Sleeping Bag (Olive Drab).  Good stuff.  One of the coolest things about the Softie Elite 1 is the expander panel, which allows you to adjust the temperature just by changing the zipper.   You keep it tight to keep the heat in for colder temperatures and employ the expander panel to allow for a little more room in not so cold temperatures.  I keep it expanded most of the time but it’s good to know I have that extra flexibility for lower temps if I need it.  The materials Snugpak uses are really tough on the outside and smooth and soft on the inside.
